Sleep Apnea

Drift into Sound Slumber

Are you feeling sleepy throughout the day? Does it seem like no matter how much you try to rest you never have enough energy? Do you snore? You may be suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea affects many people, yet they never receive treatment for it. At K Dental, we want to help you get the rest you deserve, without using medication. Sleep disordered breathing affects the amount of oxygen your body receives, and if left untreated, can lead to a vast array of symptoms including, sleeplessness, headaches, increased blood pressure and fatigue. Studies have also shown that sleep apnea can exacerbate TMJ and bruxism (grinding or clenching your teeth) symptoms.

We offer several different treatment solutions for our patients who suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Talk to our team today about your sleep patterns and see how K Dental can help you get a better night’s sleep.

TAP Appliance

The first option we offer is the Thornton Adjustable Positioner (TAP), which keeps the jaw stable in a forward position. This way, the jaw doesn’t fall open while you sleep, collapsing your airway. Its design allows our team to make adjustments to the appliance to achieve perfect results and a custom fit. It’s smaller, easier to use than traditional sleep apnea treatments, and most importantly, comfortable.

EMA Appliance

Our second option is the EMA device, which is a noninvasive way to treat sleep apnea. The EMA opens your bite by moving your jaw forward through the use of elastic straps attached to the appliance. These tiny straps can be adjusted depending on the degree of treatment needed. The EMA appliance is an affordable, comfortable, and simple solution to sleep apnea.

Dorsal Appliance

The Dorsal Appliance is yet another option offered to sleep apnea sufferers. The appliance consists of two separate pieces which allows for talking and yawning during use. Adjustable screws allow a greater range of jaw positioning, so you can find the exact therapy you need.
